My first Argyrotype test prints to determine a good exposure time. The coating is pretty uneven (Buxton is harder to coat than Arches Platine), but this doesn't matter too much yet.

Argyrotype is almost as simple as Cyanotype. The stock solution is a bit harder to prepare and the chemicals a little bit more hazardous (ok, there isn't a less hazardous photographic technique than Cyanotype ;), but on the other hand the stock solution should have a much longer shelf life. Processing is a bit more complicated as well as the print needs to be fixed. But you don't need a real darkroom as well and the needed chemicals are not very expensive (Silveroxide isn't too cheap though).

It's interesting to see, how the shadows get lighter with prolonged exposure. I believe this happens due to the increased amount of pure silver. Bigger particles form and those show metallic properties while the slightly less exposed are nano-particles which don't show a metallic shine.

So 10 minutes seem to suffice (not shown here as it is still slightly wet). Calibration will happen at the weekend... (hopefully)
